Вотервиль, Amusement park in Saint Petersburg, Russia
Votervil is an indoor water park in the northern part of Saint Petersburg, spread across several floors with water slides of varying speed and difficulty, pools for different abilities, and a dedicated area for younger children. The whole facility is enclosed, which means it operates year-round regardless of the weather outside.
Votervil opened in 2006 as one of the few large indoor water parks in the Saint Petersburg area at the time. Over the years it has grown into a well-known leisure spot in the northern part of the city.
Votervil is popular with families from Saint Petersburg who want a day out without traveling far from the city. The pools and slides attract visitors of all ages, giving the park the feel of a neighborhood outing rather than a tourist destination.
Visiting on a weekday tends to be more comfortable since the park can get very busy on weekends and school holidays. Changing rooms, lockers, and shower areas are available on site, and towels can be rented if needed.
The name Votervil is a Russian phonetic spelling of the English word "waterfall," written as it sounds when spoken in Russian. Visitors who notice the Cyrillic sign outside sometimes take a moment to work out what word it refers to.
