Arkhangelsk Gostiny Dvor
Arkhangelsk Gostiny Dvor, Trade and fortification complex on Northern Dvina Embankment, Russia.
The stone structure spans across nine hectares, featuring remaining sections of the western wall and a northern tower along the Northern Dvina River.
German and Dutch masons constructed this network of fortified depots between 1668 and 1684, establishing a crucial trade center for Russian merchants.
The building houses the Arkhangelsk Museum of Local Lore, containing extensive collections that represent the heritage of the Pomor region.
Visitors can explore the complex daily except Mondays from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with extended hours during summer months from May to July.
The structure combined separate Russian and German courtyards for native and foreign merchants, with a Stone Town section positioned between them.
