Marinkina Tower, Defense tower at Kolomna Kremlin, Russia
The Marinkina Tower stands 31 meters tall with a diameter of 11 meters, featuring red brick walls at the corner of Kolomna Kremlin.
Built in 1525 under supervision of architect Aleviz Novyi, the tower served as a crucial defense point against southern raids into Russian territory.
The tower received its name in the 17th century after Marina Mnishek, wife of False Dmitry, who was imprisoned within its walls in 1614.
Visitors can reach the tower at the intersection of Lazarjeva Street and Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya Street within the Kolomna historical district.
Local legends tell of Marina Mnishek transforming into a crow to escape from the tower during her imprisonment in the Time of Troubles.
