Monument to Lenin at the entrance of the Volga-Don canal

The Lenin statue rises 27 meters on a 30-meter pedestal at the southern end of Volgograd near the canal entrance and lighthouse.

The monument replaced a Stalin statue in 1973, using construction techniques similar to those of the Mother Russia Calls monument in Volgograd.

The statue represents the Soviet period's monumental art style and stands as a symbol of leadership at this major waterway crossing.

Visitors can reach the monument through the Krasnoarmeiskaya Naberezhnaya area, where Lock No. 1 of the canal provides additional points of interest.

This Lenin statue holds the record as the largest representation of the Soviet leader in the world, positioned at a crucial junction of Russian waterways.
