October Square

The transformation of this area began in 1780, evolving from pastoral land into a central square that later incorporated significant railway developments.

The square became a center for commerce where local merchants, including the Chekhov brothers, conducted their trade activities during the late 19th century.

The square connects with major city arteries and the railway station, providing multiple entry points for pedestrians and vehicles throughout the day.

A drinking water well in the center of the square served as the primary water source for residents during the early development of Taganrog.
