Soviet submarine S-189

The S-189 submarine stretches 76 meters in length and 6.3 meters in width, with six torpedo tubes and a maximum diving depth of 200 meters.

Built at the Baltic Shipyard between 1954 and 1955, the S-189 served in the Soviet Navy's Kronstadt submarine unit until its decommissioning in 1990.

The submarine museum preserves the original equipment and technical facilities, offering visitors direct contact with Soviet naval engineering and military heritage.

The museum requires groups of minimum five persons for guided tours through the submarine compartments, while smaller groups may explore independently.

After sinking in Kronstadt port in 1998, veteran submariners initiated its recovery in 2005, transforming the vessel into an educational facility.
