Saltykovsky Bridge

Saltykovsky Bridge connects Samokatnaya Street with Academician Tupolev Embankment using a metal arch structure that spans the Yauza River. The crossing sits between two larger traffic bridges and serves as a pedestrian link in this part of the city.

This bridge was built in 1958 and replaced an earlier crossing that had served the area since 1700. The original crossing appeared during the period when Moscow's German Quarter was becoming established nearby.

The bridge takes its name from the Saltykov noble family, whose lands shaped this area starting in the 17th century. Today, visitors can still sense this historical connection to the neighborhood's character.

This crossing sits between the Novolefortovsky and Tamozhenny bridges and connects to the First of May Children's Park and Lefortovo Park. Pedestrians will find it a quieter alternative to the heavier traffic bridges nearby.

Since 2013, the bridge features artistic lighting installed as part of Moscow's bridge illumination project. The nighttime display makes it a glowing landmark along the river's darker stretches.
