Студенческий городок Лефортово

The Lefortovo Student Campus is a residential complex with eight brick buildings offering communal corridors, kitchens, and facilities spread across multiple floors for student housing. The buildings are arranged around shared spaces where daily student life takes place.

The complex was designed by architects Boris Blokhin, Boris Gladkov, and Alexei Zaltsman and built between 1929 and 1930 as Moscow's largest student residence at the time. The project represented a significant model for contemporary residential design.

The House of Culture, founded in 1954, operates as a student center hosting concerts and supporting various forms of creative expression for residents.

The campus includes various facilities such as sports halls, dance rooms, laundry areas, and cafes that visitors can explore throughout the complex. Plan to spend time wandering through the shared spaces to get a sense of how the buildings connect.

Students once had access to a rooftop pool where they could swim and exercise, captured in photographs by avant-garde photographer Alexander Rodchenko in the early 1930s. These images reveal an unusual approach to student welfare during that period.
