The Saint Sophia Church stands on Balchug Island across from the Moscow Kremlin, featuring five domes and a three-tiered bell tower.
The first wooden church was constructed in 1493, while the current stone building dates from 1682 with subsequent modifications in the 18th century.
The church holds services in Church Slavonic language and maintains traditions through its choir school, religious ceremonies, and regular liturgical celebrations.
The church conducts daily morning and evening services, with two Sunday liturgies at 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM for congregants.
The bell tower contains the largest parish bells in central Moscow, including a seven-ton main bell installed in 2013.
