The building was constructed in 1902 according to designs by architects Karl Gippius and Tomasz Bohdanowicz-Dworzecki as a residential complex. It later underwent conversion into office space and now functions as the administrative center of a major energy company.
The building displays early 20th-century Russian architectural features through its stone ornaments and arched windows, which remain distinctive in the Yakimanka district. These design elements continue to shape the visual character of the neighborhood.
The building sits along a recognizable river section in central Moscow and is easily accessible by public transport. Visitors can appreciate the external architecture from the street, but the interior is not open to the public.
