Хлебниковский лесопарк, Protected forest park in northern Moscow, Russia.
Khlebnikovsky Forest Park is a protected forest area in northern Moscow that covers approximately 3,850 hectares, extending to the Klyazma Reservoir in the Mytishchi district. The park contains forest trails, a Nature Museum, and the historic Nekhlyudovo Estate from the 17th century.
The forest park was established in 1935 as part of Moscow's Forest Park Protection Belt and became an independent forest park in 1961 when the city's boundaries expanded to include the Ring Road. This expansion made the area an important protected zone for the region.
The forest park contains the Nekhlyudovo Estate dating from the 17th century, which local people call the Voroshilov Dacha because of its ties to politician K.E. Voroshilov. This connection to Russia's political past shapes how visitors understand the place today.
Visitors can walk the Kashino Valley trail, which runs about 2.5 kilometers through the forest with sections suitable for different fitness levels. The grounds are accessible on foot and by bicycle, and there are rest areas along the route.
The forest park contains pine plantations from 1900 that were commissioned by Count Sheremetyev and planted by local peasants under his direction. These historic plantations are now protected as natural monuments and reflect a remarkable link between land management and conservation.
