Babushkinskij park, Public park in northern Moscow, Russia
Babushkinskij Park is a green area in northern Moscow with broad walking paths, many trees, and landscaped gardens spread across about seven hectares. The grounds offer playgrounds for children, areas for strolling, and various recreational facilities, including an outdoor cinema in the southern section.
The park was founded in the late 1800s and grew from a modest green space in the Losinoostrovskij settlement into an important leisure destination. Over time it expanded and became a central public gathering place for the surrounding community, shaping how people used outdoor space in this part of the city.
The park is named after M.S. Babushkin, an important scientist whose legacy the space carries forward. Along the central alley, visitors can also find a monument to A.S. Pushkin, giving the place literary significance.
The grounds are easy to walk through and feature tennis areas and chess pavilions as well as play equipment for different ages. Visitors should dress according to the season, as the space can be used comfortably in both sunny and cool weather.
In the early 2010s, Moscow's first waterless fountain was installed here, recycling water without wasting it. At the same time, the outdoor cinema received updated technology that brought film experiences in the park to a new standard.
