Church of Saint Nicholas in Klyoniki
Church of Saint Nicholas in Klyoniki, Eastern Orthodox church in Basmanny District, Moscow, Russia.
The brick structure features five domes and exhibits late Muscovite Baroque design with small circular kokoshnik-type gables on its exterior walls.
The original wooden building appeared in 1401, while the current brick structure was completed in stages between 1682 and 1694.
The church maintains Eastern Orthodox traditions through regular services and houses religious artifacts, including a copy of the Defender of Sinners icon.
Located at coordinates 55.7575°N, 37.632222°E on Maroseyka Street, the church operates under the administration of the Moscow Eparchy.
Father Pavel Lepekhin served at this church from 1915 to 1960, establishing one of the longest tenures in Orthodox clergy during that period.
