Kungsparken, Urban park in central Malmö, Sweden.
Kungsparken is an urban green space in central Malmö beside City Hall, featuring several connected ponds linked by winding pathways and stone bridges. The layout creates distinct landscape sections that flow naturally from one to another throughout the grounds.
The grounds were established in 1872 as a royal park built over former fortress land during the reign of King Oscar II. The space later transformed into the public green area that visitors know today.
The park follows English garden design with open lawns flowing into denser tree clusters and meandering paths. Visitors experience this natural layout today through the informal arrangement of plantings and waterways.
The area is easily accessible on foot with multiple rest spots and a food and drink venue on the southeast side. The pathways are well-established and the entire park is comfortable to walk through.
A cast-iron fountain from the 1880s sits at the center and becomes a gathering point for visitors. The grounds host tree species from three different continents, creating botanical variety across the landscape.
