Railway Museum of Grängesberg

The Railway Museum of Grängesberg occupies a locomotive stable from 1928, displaying numerous historic trains and railway equipment across its exhibition halls.

The museum, established in 1979, preserves the regional mining heritage through its collection of locomotives that transported iron ore from local mines.

The museum documents the Swedish railway workers' experiences through photographs, tools, uniforms, and personal accounts spanning multiple generations.

The museum houses the sole operational steam turbine locomotive Ljungström M3t nr 71 from 1930, capable of pulling 2,000 tons on steep gradients.
