Kittelfjäll is a ski resort in Vilhelmina Municipality spread across elevations from 545 to 950 meters, with 18 kilometers of slopes running through natural ravines and birch forests. Four ski lifts provide access to the different terrain levels.
The first settlement in this mountain area was established in 1815 when Lars Larsson and Anna Gustafsdotter received permission to settle. From this early beginning, the area gradually developed into a modern ski region.
The names Stoere Giemnie and Tjiehtele come from Southern Sami language, reflecting the indigenous heritage rooted in this mountain region. Visitors can see this cultural connection woven into the landscape and local place names.
The area has approximately 1,400 private lodging properties and 700 rental beds, providing good variety in accommodation options. An unstaffed grocery store and equipment rental services are available for winter sports activities.
