Located 30 meters beneath Stockholm's granite bedrock, Pionen data center spans 1,100 square meters of underground space protected by thick bunker walls.

Built in 1943 as a civil defense center during World War II, this facility transformed into a modern data center by Swedish Internet provider Bahnhof in 2008.

The interior design merges technology with nature, incorporating indoor plants, waterfalls, and simulated daylight to create an environment inspired by 1970s science fiction films.

The facility maintains continuous operations through submarine engines as backup generators and includes three physical datalinks connecting through the mountain structure.

Protected by a 40-centimeter thick entrance door, this underground facility contains a conference room decorated with lunar surface imagery and a large saltwater aquarium.
