Göteborg City Race

Göteborg City Race is a motorsport circuit set within the harbor district of Gothenburg, spanning roughly 1.6 kilometers through the Frihamnspiren docklands with multiple curves designed for overtaking. The layout incorporates existing harbor infrastructure and holds up to 30,000 spectators.

The venue opened in 2008 and held its inaugural Swedish Touring Car Championship event in the central harbor area, immediately attracting a large crowd. It quickly became an established racing destination within the city.

The circuit weaves through the harbor area, bringing racing directly into the city's working docklands and allowing spectators to watch cars speed past cargo terminals and waterfront features. This setting makes the races feel like a temporary takeover of an industrial workspace by motorsport.

The location sits directly within the harbor between active docks and is most easily reached on foot from the city center. Visitors should be prepared for uneven terrain, as the track runs over existing harbor structures.

The circuit was originally branded as Eco Drive Arena and prioritized environmental responsibility by requiring environmentally classified fuels for all racing events. This focus on sustainability set it apart from many other racing venues.
