Angereds Teater

Angereds Teater is a theatre housed within the Kulturhuset Blå Stället building that presents productions to audiences of all ages. The venue features a mix of Swedish and international dramatic works along with its own original stagings.

The theatre began in 1978 as part of Gothenburg's city theatre structure before gaining independence in 1996 to chart its own artistic direction. This separation allowed the venue to develop its own voice and explore experimental approaches to performance.

The theatre serves as a gathering place where locals experience performances that speak to their daily lives and shared values. Shows reach across generations and connect the neighborhood through storytelling that matters to people here.

Visitors can reach the theatre by taking trams 4, 8, or 9 to Angered Centrum station. Parking is available at the nearby Angered 3 facility for those arriving by car.

A notable production called 'The Butterfly Pilots' toured internationally and blended breakdancing with traditional theatre in performances across Mexico, Egypt, and Syria. This unusual fusion showed how the theatre pushes beyond conventional stage forms.
