Angereds Centrum, Shopping center in Angered district, Göteborg, Sweden.
Angereds Centrum is a shopping center in the Angered district of northern Göteborg with about 60 stores, banks, restaurants, and a central square. The complex spreads across multiple levels and zones offering different services and shopping and leisure options beneath one large roof.
Construction began in February 1976, and King Carl XVI Gustaf officially opened the main square in 1978 after arriving by tram from central Göteborg. This royal inauguration marked the completion of a major infrastructure project for the rapidly expanding district.
The Blå Stället cultural center inside hosts theater shows and exhibitions that bring together people from many different backgrounds living in the district. These spaces serve as gathering points where the community comes together to share experiences and creative expression.
The center connects easily to the public transport network with three tram lines and ten bus routes, plus free parking for those arriving by car. The wide choice of transport options makes visiting straightforward whether traveling by transit or driving yourself.
The location also houses medical facilities, schools, and Lärjeån, a biodynamic vegetable garden with a cafe, expanding its role beyond typical shopping. This mix of everyday services and sustainable initiatives makes it more than just a place to shop.
