Arken, Office building in Tomteboda, Sweden
The Arken building features a transparent ground floor and office spaces organized in parallel sections divided by a central atrium with connecting bridges.
BSK Arkitekter won the design competition in May 2000, leading to the construction of Arken in 2003 and its official opening in February 2004.
The structure houses the headquarters of PostNord, accommodating approximately one thousand postal workers who relocated to the building in late 2003.
The building sits between the Tomteboda Mail Terminal and former Police Academy, following the natural slope of the hill in its architectural design.
The interior includes specialized meeting spaces called cocoons within the atrium, connecting different sections through a network of stairs and footbridges.
