Bredängs camping

Bredängs camping is a campground near Stockholm with around 380 pitches set on grassy areas dotted with deciduous trees, including 204 with electrical connections and 115 with hard-standing bases. The site has a restaurant, heated sanitary facilities, and direct access to Lake Mälaren.

The campground began in the post-war period as a simple lodging facility for visitors exploring Swedish natural landscapes. Over time it evolved into a modern site with improved facilities and became an important destination for tourists near Stockholm.

The campground attracts visitors from around the world who come to experience Swedish camping culture in a setting close to the capital. People use the space as a base to explore the relationship between outdoor living and easy access to city life.

The site sits about 700 meters (2,300 feet) from Bredäng subway station and is easy to reach on foot. The campground operates from May through September and offers easy pathways to the lake and walking trails through the surrounding forest.

A forest path connects the site to Mälarhöjdsbadet beach, where seasonal boat services depart to Stockholm City Hall during warmer months. These water routes allow guests to visit historic sites across the lake without needing to drive into the city center.
