Domkyrkoforum, Cathedral visitor center in Lund, Sweden.
Domkyrkoforum is a two-story cathedral visitor center with a bronze-colored brass alloy exterior that naturally oxidizes over time. Its design seamlessly blends the modern structure with the established character of central Lund while housing offices, meeting spaces, and public areas.
The building was completed in 2011 and connects directly to the historic Arken house. This connection established a new layer within Lund's existing urban fabric.
The central atrium hosts rotating exhibitions and serves as a gathering place for community events. The adjacent café area invites visitors to linger and connect with others.
Multiple entrances from the public plaza and Kyrkogatan Street provide flexible access to all facilities. Visitors will find offices and meeting rooms on the upper floor, with public areas near the central atrium.
The auditorium features a specially designed skylight that frames the cathedral towers. This connection creates a visual dialogue between the modern interior and the historic structure outside.
