Von der Lindeska huset, 17th-century merchant palace in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, Sweden

The Von der Lindeska huset presents Dutch Renaissance architecture with red brick facades and windows containing 30 individual glass panes at Västerlånggatan 68.

Built in 1633 for Erik Larsson von der Linde, the building later became property of Queen Christina and housed philosopher René Descartes during his stay in Stockholm.

The sandstone portal features carved heads of Mercury and Neptune, while the bay window displays four wooden figures with original paint from the 1620s.

The structure connects to additional buildings through a wing at Kornhamnstorg, providing access from multiple streets in the old town district.

Two German inscriptions on the facade express religious sentiments about divine grace and hope, reflecting the spiritual values of 17th-century Stockholm merchants.
