Västra Gymnasiehuset, Office building in Stockholm, Sweden
Västra Gymnasiehuset is an office and school building on Kungsholmen in Stockholm, opened in 2012 as part of Campus Konradsberg. It consists of several blocks with large windows and a plain facade, designed by architect Johan Celsing.
Campus Konradsberg formerly housed a teacher training college before it was converted into a school campus. Västra Gymnasiehuset opened in 2012 as one of the first buildings on the redesigned site.
The building is part of Campus Konradsberg, a former teacher training site that now houses several schools. The staircases inside are named after figures from education and philosophy, such as Ellen Key and Elise Ottesen-Jensen.
The building is located at Rålambsvägen 34A on Kungsholmen and is easy to reach by bus or subway. The surrounding campus has several other school buildings, which makes it straightforward to find your way once you are in the area.
From the fall of 2017, the school became an officially recognized UN school, meaning topics like peace and global justice are woven into daily lessons. It was also the first school in Stockholm to offer a certified program in care and social services, starting in 2012.
