National Assembly Building, Parliament building in Republic Square, Slovenia
The National Assembly Building stands three stories tall and extends over 2,200 square meters, featuring a main entrance adorned with green granite columns.
Between 1954 and 1959, architect Vinko Glanz designed and constructed this legislative palace, which replaced an earlier proposal by architect Jože Plečnik.
The interior displays numerous artworks, including a detailed mural by Slavko Pengov depicting Slovenia's history from early settlements through World War II.
Guided tours in Slovene and English languages are available during open days, scheduled for the second Saturday of each month.
The building's exterior combines Karst marble with Oplotnica granite, while bronze statues at the entrance portray scenes from Slovenian daily life.
