The Opera Ljubljana building features Ionic columns, allegorical statues of Tragedy and Comedy in niches, and sculptures representing Poetry and Glory in the tympanum.
Czech architects Jan V. Hrasky and Anton Hruby designed the neo-Renaissance building in 1890, which initially served productions in both Slovenian and German languages.
The Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre presents 150 performances each season, including classical operas, modern productions, ballets, and concert works.
The theatre information center operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, providing accessible entrances and facilities for visitors with mobility requirements.
Stone pedestals in front of the building display busts of theatre artists Anton Verovšek and Ignacij Borštnik, sculpted by France Kralj in 1921.
