St. James's Bridge, Neo-Biedermeier bridge in Ljubljana, Slovenia
The reinforced concrete corbel bridge spans across the Ljubljanica River, connecting Zois Street with Karlovac Street in central Ljubljana.
Built in 1915 by engineer Alois Král and architect Alfred Keller, this structure replaced the original wooden bridge from 1824 known as the New Bridge.
A plaque installed in 1954 commemorates the location of a 15th-century watermill that was destroyed during the peasant revolt of 1515.
The bridge functions as a primary traffic artery across the Ljubljanica River, handling substantial vehicle flow through the southern part of downtown Ljubljana.
The bridge design incorporates elements of late-Secession Viennese architecture, reflecting the engineering and aesthetic principles of early 20th-century construction.
