Ušatá veža, Mountain summit in Poprad District, Slovakia
Ušatá veža is a mountain summit in the High Tatras at roughly 2265 meters with two peaks of equal height. The mountain rises in a challenging climbing area without marked trails reaching the top.
The first documented climb occurred in 1912 when mountaineers reached the summit. The peak is part of a landscape with a long history of high mountain climbing.
The name refers to historical gold mining activities in the nearby Miedziane Ławki region. Local traditions connect this place to the area's mining heritage.
Only experienced climbers should attempt this summit, as the route from Złota Przełączka requires technical skills. Good weather and proper equipment are necessary for a safe ascent.
The peak forms part of the outer frame of Niemiecka Drabina, a rocky gully that descends diagonally from Złota Przełączka toward the valley. This unusual formation is a special feature of the landscape here.
