Kostol Navštívenia Panny Márie a kláštor Milosrdných bratov, Baroque church in Old Town of Bratislava, Slovakia.
The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a Baroque structure with a single nave and white facade in the Old Town's center. Inside are six side altars, stone sculptures, and late-Baroque paintings decorating the walls and columnar main altar.
Construction began in 1690 following destruction by Turkish forces and finished in 1692. The building was created under the direction of the Merciful Brothers as part of their mission work.
The church was established by the Merciful Brothers, who served the sick and poor in the city. Inside, visitors see how religious communities expressed their faith through art and decoration.
The building sits near the Square of Slovak National Uprising and is easily reached while walking through the Old Town. Note that it remains an active place of worship, so visitors should dress respectfully.
The building drew inspiration from Vienna's Merciful Brothers monastery but features local architectural touches. Inside rests a marble tombstone carved by Balthasar Ferdinand Moll, a renowned sculptor whose works are rarely found in this region.
