Description
Hotel Thermia Palace is an Art Nouveau spa establishment located on Spa Island with direct internal access to the Irma Health Spa thermal facilities through a connecting corridor. The five-star property houses 111 rooms spread across five floors and provides medical services, thermal treatments, and conference spaces for groups up to 50 people.
History
Construction started in September 1910 under architects Ármin Hegedüs and Henrich Böhm, with the hotel opening to guests in April 1912. It was built during the peak era of European spa tourism when Piešťany was becoming one of the leading health resorts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Culture
The hotel restaurant displays an original painting by Alfons Mucha showing his daughter resting in a chair, created as thanks for her recovery at the springs. This artwork remains a personal token of gratitude from the renowned artist to the spa.
