Three Towers of San Marino, Medieval fortification towers atop Mount Titano, San Marino.

Three stone towers rise along the ridge of Mount Titano, connected by paths and protected by thick defensive walls at different elevations.

The towers, first documented in 1253, served as protection against attacks from the Malatesta family of Rimini during the medieval period.

The Museum of Ancient Weapons in the Cesta tower displays 535 items including armor, swords, and firearms from the Middle Ages through 1900.

Visitors can access two of the three towers, with the Guaita and Cesta offering guided tours while the Montale remains closed to the public.

The Guaita tower contains a prison cell that remained in use until 1970, accessed only through an opening in the ceiling.
