Nong Han

Nong Han is an administrative district in northeastern Thailand, consisting of twelve sub-districts with a total of 161 rural villages. The region encompasses a large area and connects multiple smaller communities together.

The district emerged as one of the original four administrative subdivisions of Udon Thani province, receiving its official designation during the administrative reforms of 1908. This early organization shaped the region's structure for decades to come.

Ban Chiang, located within the district, reveals evidence of very old settlements uncovered through archaeological excavations. The red-painted pottery found there tells of people who lived in this area across thousands of years.

Visitors can use the central bus terminal in Tambon Nong Han to travel around the region and to other parts of Thailand. The location is easy to reach and offers regular connections to different destinations.

The area is planned to host one of the country's largest biomass power plants in Tambon Phak Top, representing a new direction toward renewable energy for the region. This project will reshape local energy supply and economic development.
