Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

Khao Phanom Bencha National Park is a protected area in Krabi Province featuring dense tropical forests, limestone caves, and multiple waterfalls that cascade through mountainous terrain. The park encompasses rugged landscapes with several trails that wind through forest sections and offer views from higher elevations.

The area was officially established as a protected park in 1981 under the National Parks Department and encompassed sections of several neighboring districts. This designation marked the start of formal conservation for this forest landscape.

The central mountain serves as a natural landmark recognized by local communities, and the forest provides materials used in traditional crafts and remedies. People have long gathered forest resources that remain part of their everyday activities and local knowledge.

The park is best reached with your own vehicle, since public transportation does not go directly to the entrance. The site is open during daylight hours, and it is wise to bring water and sturdy footwear as the paths can be uneven.

The area is home to over 200 bird species, some of which are hornbills and rare raptors that visitors might spot from the hiking trails with patience. This wildlife abundance makes the park rewarding for nature watchers.
