Wat Siri Phong Tham Nimit

Wat Siri Phong Tham Nimit is a Buddhist temple in Tha Raeng with a cave system located beneath the shrine area. The passage is carved from sandstone, extends around 50 meters, and offers about 2 meters of height as you move through it.

The temple developed as a place of worship centered on the underground cave system for spiritual practice. A damaging incident in 2017 affected some naga statues, marking a notable moment in the site's modern history.

The temple shows deep ties to naga worship, with snake deities visible throughout its religious practices and design. Visitors can see how this spiritual tradition shapes the way people use and honor the sacred space today.

The temple welcomes visitors year-round with no entrance fee required. A flashlight or good lighting helps navigate the cave passage comfortably, and sturdy footwear is wise since the underground path can be uneven.

At the end of the cave passage sits a large pyramid-shaped boulder that is lit by natural light filtering down from above. This unexpected brightness in the depths creates a memorable moment as you emerge into the illuminated chamber.
