Silivri

Silivri is a coastal town in Istanbul Province that spreads over a large area and ranks among the largest districts in the region. The settlement extends from the shores of the Sea of Marmara inland and borders neighboring districts.

The area began as a Thracian settlement and was later established as a Greek colony called Selymbria. In the 14th century, it fell under Ottoman rule and developed into an important regional center.
