Erzincan Province

Erzincan Province spans 11,815 square kilometers of mountainous terrain and fertile plains across the Eastern Anatolian region, featuring nine distinct administrative districts.

The region transformed under different administrative structures, including the Third Inspectorate General in 1935 and Fourth Inspectorate-General in 1936, until these systems dissolved in 1952.

The province maintains strong agricultural traditions centered on grape cultivation, while local inhabitants produce specialized products such as the regional Tulum cheese.

The province connects eastern and western Turkey through major transportation routes, serving as a central hub for commerce and travel across Anatolia.

Located along the Northern Anatolian Fault, the province experienced two major earthquakes in 1939 and 1992, which led to significant reconstruction efforts.
