Ahmet Çelebi Mosque

The Ahmet Çelebi Mosque is a prayer hall with a central dome supported by four smaller semicircular domes. The prayer space follows a hexagonal shape that distinguishes its structure from other buildings of the same period.

Construction of this mosque took place between 1570 and 1584 under the commission of Kazasker Mehmet Vusuli Efendi. Mimar Sinan, the leading imperial architect of that era, designed the building.

The interior walls display traditional colored paintings and calligraphy typical of Ottoman times. These decorations shape how the space feels and reflect the artistic style people valued during that era.

The mosque sits near the Kabataş ferry terminal and is easy to reach by public transport. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing and respect prayer times, especially when the space is in active use.
