Beşiktaş Stadium, Football stadium in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Turkey
Beşiktaş Stadium is a football ground with modern architecture in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, along the shore of the Bosporus. The building holds around 42,000 spectators across several tiers that fully surround the rectangular pitch, offering views of the action from all sides.
The previous ground on this site, İnönü Stadium, was demolished in 2013 to make way for the new construction. The venue opened in April 2016 and three years later hosted the European Super Cup final.
The name honors the club's founding year of 1903, which is also reflected in a dedicated members' lounge inside the building. The stands encircle the pitch in the style of ancient amphitheaters, creating a close connection between supporters and players during matches.
The ground sits right next to historic buildings by the water and is well connected by public transport. Visitors should note that the area gets crowded on match days and arriving early is recommended.
In 2019, a female referee officiated the final of a major European men's tournament here for the first time. The roof of the ground can be closed when needed to protect spectators and playing surface from rain.
