Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre, Open-air concert hall in Harbiye, Şişli, Turkey
The limestone amphitheater contains 3,972 regular seats, 30 VIP seats, and a section for 80 musicians in a tiered semicircular arrangement facing a central stage.
Construction started in July 1946, and the theater opened on August 9, 1947, with the performance of Sophocles' Oedipus the King by Ankara State Theatre.
The venue hosts music concerts and artistic events during summer festivals, bringing together performers and audiences in an outdoor setting.
The theater sits across from Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Convention Center and behind Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, with nearby public transportation access.
The German stage director Carl Ebert modified the original design by Turkish architects Nihad Yücel and Nahid Uysal to enhance performance capabilities.
