Eşrefpaşa Mosque

Eşrefpaşa Mosque is an octagonal worship building with traditional minarets, domes, and a central entrance opening into the main prayer hall. The interior features handcrafted tilework and a single chandelier made by local artisans, creating a distinct visual character.

The mosque was built in 1906 during a period of architectural growth in Konak district. This construction reflected the city's development at that time.

The mosque serves as a gathering place where the community comes together for daily prayers and religious celebrations throughout the year. Visitors can observe people arriving for prayer times and notice how the space brings together people from the neighborhood.

The mosque welcomes visitors during and outside prayer times, though it is most active during scheduled prayer hours. Shoes should be removed before entering and modest clothing is expected.

The chandelier hanging inside was created by local artisans and stands out as a distinctive feature among regional mosques. This handmade work represents traditional craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations in Izmir.
