Çamlıca Tower, Television and observation tower in Üsküdar, Turkey.
Çamlıca Tower is a television and observation tower in Üsküdar, Istanbul, reaching 369 meters above the ground and built from reinforced concrete. The facility contains 45 floors above ground and 4 basement levels, with several floors open to visitors.
Construction began in September 2016 and the facility opened in 2020 to serve as a central broadcasting hub. Since then, it has operated as the main transmission point for radio and television signals across Istanbul.
The name Çamlıca comes from the pine forests that once covered the hill where the structure now stands. Local families visit the upper floors to see both the European and Asian sides of the city spread out below.
Viewing terraces on the 33rd and 34th floors offer a full circle of sightlines over the city and the strait, while two restaurants sit higher up on the 39th and 40th floors. Clear days provide the best conditions for seeing both sides of the metropolis.
The facility can process up to 100 broadcast signals at the same time without interference, a capacity that no other transmission tower in the world currently matches. This allows Istanbul to broadcast all its radio and television channels from a single location.
