Atatürk Monument

The Atatürk Monument is a 22-meter tall statue made of steel and copper located on Atatepe hill, commanding views over the city below. The complex features granite-paved walkways, observation platforms, and dining facilities arranged to create a cohesive visitor experience.

The monument was completed in 2012 and depicts the nation's founder in a pose referencing a pivotal military moment from his life. Its construction brought together an international team of craftspeople led by a Georgian sculptor.

The site honors the nation's founding figure and serves as a gathering place where visitors reflect on the country's modern identity and values.

The site sits on elevated terrain with well-paved paths and designated viewing areas, plus dining options available for visitors spending extended time here. Wear comfortable shoes and allow adequate time to explore the surroundings properly.

The structure uses an innovative assembly method with more than 1400 individual steel pieces fitted together with remarkable precision to create a self-supporting form. Each major section was transported separately and assembled on-site, making the construction process itself an engineering feat.
