Kızılören Han, Medieval caravanserai in Konya Province, Turkey
Kızılören Han is a caravanserai built from yellow tufa stone, featuring octagonal corner towers and a series of vaulted chambers arranged around an open courtyard. Following renovations completed in 2008, the structure now functions as a restaurant and equestrian club.
Construction took place around 1205-1206 during the reign of Sultan Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev I. It stands as one of the earliest caravanserais built along the trade route connecting Konya and Beyşehir.
The mosque on the second floor above the entrance portal shows how religious spaces were woven into the daily life of merchants traveling along trade routes. This arrangement reflects the importance of faith in the routines of commercial journeys.
The site is easily accessible for walking through and observing the layout from various angles. Since it operates as a working restaurant and equestrian facility, visiting during active hours allows you to see how the space is used in daily life.
This structure was one of four caravanserais positioned along the same trade corridor, including Altinapa Han, Kuruçeşme Han, and Yunuslar Han. These buildings worked together as a network supporting merchants traveling long distances.
