Point Fortin, Administrative borough in southwestern Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago
Point Fortin extends across a coastal area 32 kilometers southwest of San Fernando, functioning as the smallest borough in Trinidad and Tobago.
The discovery of petroleum in 1906 transformed Point Fortin from agricultural estates into a major oil production center, leading to its borough status in 1980.
Point Fortin contributes to national development through multiple sectors, including agriculture, sports, energy production, and governmental administration.
The Point Fortin Heritage Administrative Complex, opening in 2024, centralizes government services with modern offices, parking facilities, and a food court.
The region evolved from three separate cocoa and coconut estates into an energy hub, housing a Liquefied Natural Gas plant operated by Atlantic LNG.
