Fort George, Historic site in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago.

The military structure stands on a hilltop, featuring stone walls, barracks, artillery storage rooms, and defensive positions facing the Caribbean Sea.

British forces constructed Fort George between 1796 and 1800 after their victory against French troops at the Battle of San Juan.

The fortress represents British colonial military architecture and demonstrates the strategic importance of Trinidad in the 18th century Caribbean region.

The site maintains regular hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM daily, with free entrance and informative guided tours available for visitors.

Multiple cannons remain in their original positions along the fortress walls, pointing toward the Gulf of Paria and Northern Range mountains.
