Yingge District, Ceramics production district in New Taipei City, Taiwan
The district features over 800 ceramic workshops and studios spread across its streets, making it Taiwan's main center for pottery production.
The ceramics tradition in Yingge began 200 years ago when Wu An established the first pottery workshop, utilizing the area's natural clay resources.
The New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum displays extensive collections of traditional and modern pottery while offering educational programs about ceramic techniques.
Visitors reach Yingge through regular train services from Taipei, with the journey taking 30 minutes to the centrally located Yingge Railway Station.
The district's name originates from a local rock formation that, according to records, was known as Parrot Stone, Eagle Brother Stone, and Warbler Brother Stone.
