Jingfu Temple, Religious temple in Zhonghe Village, Taiwan

Jingfu Temple is a Chinese temple in Zhonghe Village featuring traditional Taiwanese architecture with detailed carvings and decorative patterns across its three main halls and multiple courtyards. The structure displays skilled craftsmanship through carefully designed elements and the harmonious arrangement of its different sections.

The temple was founded in 1745 during the Qianlong period and underwent major reconstruction in 1923 under master craftsman Chen Yingbin. This renovation reflected the site's continued importance to the community.

This temple serves as a primary gathering place for worshipping Kaizhang Shengwang, a deity deeply revered by descendants of Zhangzhou immigrants who settled in northern Taiwan. You can observe traditional rituals and prayers performed by the local community during your visit.

The temple is most active during religious ceremonies on the 17th day of the first lunar month and on the deity's birthday celebrations on the 15th day of the second lunar month. Plan your visit around these dates if you want to experience the temple at its most vibrant.

The temple houses Taiwan's largest Qing Dynasty statue of Kaizhang Shengwang, accompanied by ancient wooden plaques that reveal its historical importance. These artworks offer insight into the religious artistic traditions that have been maintained across generations.
