Yongan Market Station, Taipei Metro Zhonghe line station
Yongan Market Station is an underground metro station in Zhonghe District, on the Orange Line of the Taipei Metro network. The platforms sit below street level, and exits connect directly to the surrounding streets and the nearby market area.
The station opened as part of the expansion of the Taipei Metro into the Zhonghe area, bringing rapid transit to a densely populated district southwest of the city center. Since then, it has remained a regular stop for commuters traveling between Zhonghe and central Taipei.
The station takes its name from the nearby Yongan Market, a street market where locals shop for fresh food and everyday goods. On most mornings, you can see people arriving at the station with full bags, having stopped at the market before catching a train.
The station is on the Orange Line and has several exits that bring you out at different points around the surrounding streets. It is worth checking which exit leads toward the market if you plan to visit, as the entrances are spread across a busy intersection.
The proximity between the station exits and the market stalls means that some commuters pick up groceries and board the train within a few minutes of each other. On weekday mornings, the area around the exits fills with shoppers before the rush hour crowd even arrives.
