Fuhe Bridge, Road bridge in New Taipei, Taiwan.
Fuhe Bridge is a road and beam bridge in New Taipei, crossing the Xindian River and carrying both vehicle and pedestrian traffic between districts. It sits near the Yonghe area, close to the boundary with Taipei city.
Fuhe Bridge was completed in 1973, during a period when the greater Taipei region was growing fast and new connections between districts were urgently needed. The bridge helped link the expanding Yonghe area to the wider city network.
Every Saturday and Sunday morning, the space under the bridge fills with local vendors selling second-hand goods, antiques, and everyday items at the Fuhe Bridge Flea Market. The market draws mostly local residents looking for bargains rather than tourists, giving it a very genuine neighborhood feel.
The bridge is easy to reach by bus, and the nearest metro station is within walking distance, making it convenient from central Taipei. If you plan to see the weekend market, go early in the morning since vendors start packing up well before noon.
The flea market beneath the bridge is one of the oldest still-running markets of its kind in the Taipei area, with some vendors returning to the same spot for decades. The underside of the bridge acts as a natural roof, allowing the market to operate even in rainy weather.
